How To Overcome Anxiety

On February 15, 2010 in Health

Being without a partner may be something which you have identified as making you unhappy and which you want to change. I would be tempted to say the same things about this as I did about deciding to share living accommodation with people. If it is done from a positive stance, fine. If, however, you want a partner in order to save you from your anxiety attacks and to provide ‘The Answer’ in the same way you might hope living with friends might do, then you could be in for a let-down. But if you know you want a partner because you prefer to positively share your life, then do something about it.

Many people will simply bemoan the lack of a special person in their life without doing much about it. If you really do want to meet someone then be pro-active. Realize that if you are not meeting people in the way you live your life now, then you need to start doing things which will allow you to. And if you have your sights set on marriage, do consider joining a dating agency. Many people do, so why can’t you?

You might have to work harder at making your social life work when you live on your own, but you are at least in a better position to choose those things which you really enjoy doing, and which make you feel good about yourself and your life. When you begin to feel good about things, your anxiety symptoms drop and when that happens you instantly reduce the risk of another panic attack. Start to think about other things you could start to include in your life which would make you feel good.
